8812/ 1 ist die Nachfolgerin der Computerkasse 710. In diese Kompaktkasse waren Bedieneranzeige, frei programmierbare Kassentastatur und ein Drucker mit getrennten Bon- und Journaldruck in einem Gehäuse integriert. Sie benötigte daher weniger Stellfläche als die 710. Auch hatte diese Kasse einen leistungsfähigeren Rechner. Später konnte in einem Beistellgehäuse auch ein Diskettenlaufwerk (8 Zoll) eingefügt werden. Von 1977 bis 1986 wurden über 10.000 Stück produziert.
